Kristie Godfrey, Assistant Director for USU Reservations and Events Services and Computer Labs, served as a member of the Association of College Unions International (ACUI) Conference Planning Team for the 2014 100th annual conference in Orlando, FL.

Michal Jankowski, Operations Coordinator, served as the Educational Program Coordinator for the Regional Leadership Team of the Association of College Unions International (ACUI) Region 15.

Brenda Cruz, Commercial Services Assistant, was a member of the Association of College Unions International’s (ACUI) Region 15 Regional Leadership Team.

Jeremy Hamlett, Commercial Services Manager, took part in an Association of College Unions International (ACUI) Regional Restructuring Task Force meeting in Bloomington, Indiana. The task force was charged with developing the implementation of the restructuring of ACUI’s 15 regions. He also served on the ACUI Regional Audit Task Force. This task force examined effective strategies for delivering regional programs and services to the Association’s membership.


Shannon Krajewski, Associate Director, Marketing and Programs; and Sharon S. Kinard, Manager, Administration and Communications, presented “Using StrengthsQuest at Work” at the Gallup Organization’s Strengths in Education Conference 2012 in Omaha, NE.

James Matzen, Graphic Designer, and Kevin Lizárraga, Marketing Manager, were selected to judge magazine designs that were submitted to the annual CASE (Council for Advancement and Support of Education) Accolades competition.

Amanda Frick, Fitness and Wellness Graduate Assistant, and Seda Harutyunyan, Facility Operations Intern, presented “Going from Good to Great” at the National Intramural-Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA) Region VI Student Lead-On conference at Arizona State University.

Mike Jurczak, Intramural Coordinator, and Cornelius Stone, Intramural Student Official, served respectively as a tournament host committee member and a tournament official for the NIRSA Region VI Flag Football Championship.


Debra L. Hammond, Executive Director:

  • Served as a member of the Program Review and Assessment team for the University Memorial Center at Colorado University, Boulder.
  • Co-presented a workshop for the University Human Resources Department entitled “How the University Operates.”
  • Served as a member of the program review and assessment team for the Ohio Union at the Ohio State University.

Kaila Lavin, Membership Services Coordinator, served as the secretary for the Communications Plan Work Team for Region VI of the National Intramural-Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA).

Frances Caron, Aquatics Coordinator, hosted the Southern California Public Pool Operator Association (SCPPOA) November meeting for more than 50 agency members from Southern California.

Kristen Pichler, Human Resources Officer, was appointed to the City of Simi Valley’s Youth Employment Services Advisory Board.

Monteigne Long

Monteigne Long, Coordinator, Veterans Resource Center:

  • Served as a webinar presenter for “Supporting Veterans on Campus.” The webinar was sponsored by Kognito, a developer of role-playing simulations and games in the areas of health and behavioral health.

  • Was a member of a discussion panel at UCLA that followed a screening of the documentary, “High Ground.” Other members of the panel included the film’s producer, Don Hahn — a CSUN alumnus. The event was a fundraiser for the UCLA/CSUN Army ROTC programs.
