A Message from the Executive Director

Welcome to the Web page for the University Student Union, Inc. at California State University, Northridge!

We recently cut the ribbon on a $15 million renovation project featuring new retail spaces, an expanded late-night computer lab with training rooms, and an all-new, palm-tree lined concert area. We marked the completion of the renovation with a daylong Grand Opening Celebration featuring a ribbon cutting ceremony, free food, live entertainment, a comedy show, and various activities on September 12. More than 1,500 students attended the festivities to discover the new features of the University Student Union (USU).

In addition, we have implemented new programs that promise MORE entertainment, involvement, and celebration on campus. A prime example is the late-night Matador Nights, which take place twice every semester and is quickly growing into a popular campus tradition. We have designed this Web site to let you explore the various facets of the organization from your computer screen. It is an interactive site that strives to meet ADA usability standards and includes current photos, information about upcoming events, the most up-to-date news about the USU and Satellite Student Union (SSU).

I invite you to delve into the site and explore the events, programs, services and facilities that have been designed with you in mind. Check out the contemporary Sol Center, which showcases a TV lounge, numerous study rooms, clubs and organizations offices, and a new coffee house. From this site, you can explore the Union or find an activity. Search for an upcoming movie screening, concert, lecture, or take a dance lesson. You can even book meeting rooms online!

We want this site to entice your sense of adventure and make it convenient for you to broaden your college experience - whether you wish to locate a club or activity, or find a quiet place to relax, study, and connect with friends. A special section on leadership contains tools, questionnaires, and information sheets that will allow you to sharpen your leadership skills any day, any time, and from any place where there is Web accessibility.
