Involvement

There are several ways to get involved with at USU:

Elections will not occur again until Spring 2009.
Students can join committees for Fall 2008.

• Ten CSUN students are elected to the Board of Directors and serve a 2-year term. They vote on important issues related to the USU’s $6,000,000 annual budget, personnel, and programs. For example, USU’s Board of Directors play a major role in the ongoing development of the new Recreation Center. These elite student leaders interact with high-profile university officials, develop leadership skills, and gain valuable insight into the workings of a corporation.

Join a Board of Directors committee!

• Joining one of the standing committees of the USU Board of Directors is a great way to learn about the Board of Directors and the USU while developing skills for your future. The standing committees include: the audit committee, the facilities and commercial services committee, the union program council, the finance committee, and the personnel committee. Students who serve on committees and demonstrate leadership potential are always encouraged to run for a seat on the Board of Directors.

• Be a key member of this active group who plans events at the USU! From concerts to comedy shows and Pub After Dark to snowboarding trips, there is always something hot coming from UPC! Joining UPC is a perfect opportunity to meet new people and implement your ideas!
