A Message from the Executive Director
Welcome to the University Student Union (USU) online - an interactive exploration of the student center at California State University, Northridge.
We invite you to browse our pages to learn MORE about the programs, lectures, concerts and activities on tap for 2009-2010.
Throughout these Web pages you will often see the word “MORE.” We have adopted the moniker MORE as an intentional and philosophical theme of our mission “To be a world-class university student center that educates through inclusion, personal growth and entertainment…” Each letter of the MORE designation expresses one aspect of our customer commitment: “M” (Make a Connection, “O” (Over Deliver), “R” (Reinforce Relationships), and “E (Every Person Matters). We infuse this message into all aspects of our operation and strive to deliver MORE with our programming.
From noontime concerts and a film series, to student leadership programs and life skills workshops, CSUN students, faculty and staff will find engaging activities aimed at augmenting the academic experience. Returning this year with a growing following is our Matador Nights nighttime program that brings live concerts, dances, crafts, free food, games, and entertainment to campus until 2 a.m. To learn more, click on the “Events” tab.
Looking for a job or volunteer opportunity? A list of possibilities can be found on the “Jobs” and “Involvement” tabs. Click on “Services” for information about the banking services, food, retail shops, study rooms, and TV lounges located in our facilities. And for a glimpse into the future, visit the “Recreation” page in the “About Us” section for updates about the state-of-the-art recreation center approved by the student body last spring which is scheduled to open at the USU in 2011.
So much is happening here. We invite you to stop by and take part. Our innovative programs and partnerships are designed with students in mind. So, broaden your horizons, join a club, or simply enjoy a cup of java at our Freudian Sip. Have a question? Ask one of our dedicated staff and student employees who are more than happy to assist you.
